Rental Conditions

  • 1. Age Requirement
    Renters must be at least 21 years old. Drivers under 25 may be charged a young driver surcharge. Some vehicle categories may only be rented to drivers aged 25 or older.
  • 2. Payment and Deposit
    A major credit card in the renter’s name is required for payment and deposit. Debit cards may be accepted with additional restrictions. A security deposit (typically $200–$500) will be held during the rental period and released after the car is returned in proper condition.
  • 3. Valid Driver’s License
    A valid driver’s license is required and must have been held for at least one year. International renters must present a passport and, if the license is not in English, an International Driving Permit (IDP).
  • 4. Insurance Coverage
    Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Loss Damage Waiver (LDW).Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI). Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) Renters may decline these if already covered by personal car insurance or a credit card policy.
  • 5. Fuel Policy
    The standard policy is Full-to-Full: pick up the vehicle with a full tank and return it full. If not refueled, refueling charges will apply. Prepaid fuel options may be available at the start of the rental.
  • 6. Mileage Policy

  • 7. Additional Drivers
    Additional drivers must meet the same age and license requirements as the main renter. Spouses or domestic partners may be added at no extra cost in most states. Other additional drivers may incur a daily fee.

    The vehicle must be inspected before and after rental. Renters should check for existing damage and report it before departure. The car must be returned in the same condition as rented, with no new damage or excessive dirt.
  • 9. Return Time and Late Fees
    The vehicle must be returned on or before the agreed time and date. Late returns may incur additional hourly or daily charges. Grace periods, if any, vary by company (usually 30–60 minutes).
  • 10. Geographical Restrictions
    Rental vehicles may be driven anywhere within the continental United States. Travel to Canada or Mexico requires prior authorization and special insurance coverage. Off-road driving is prohibited and voids insurance coverage.
